Techland Further Embarrasses Itself

Techland creator of the now infamous Dead Island has done it again. In the developer code, which was mistakenly released on steam, featuring all sorts of bugs, dev keys, unfinished animations, has revealed another shocking detail: The skill "Feminist Whore" for the character Purna. Found by a steam user, the skill might be similar to "Gender War" which gives +15% damage against the opposite gender

Needless to say, the steam forums are offering comical views on this development. Deep Silver issued a response to this:

"These unfortunate actions were of one individual at developer company Techland and do not in any way represent the views of publishing company Deep Silver." Further, developer Techland stated: "It obviously violates professional and ethical standards at Techland and should never have happened. We're investigating this right now and we'll issue a statement later. For now, I can only express my sincerest apologies for this incident and assure you that whoever acted so irresponsibly did not represent the views and opinions of Techland. I'm equally sure that aside from the author of that unfortunate line of code, everyone at the office is as disturbed by this as you are."

All I can say is, what is going on at Techland?

Dead Island Blunders on Steam

Dead Island developed by Tech Land hasn't exactly been off to a great start on the PC. A developer version of the game was released to Steam for North American players.

Tech Land's facebook page released this statement on the matter:

"We deeply regret that an incorrect version of Dead Island was inadvertently made available to players on Steam launch in North America,"

"We are very sorry for any issues you may have experienced while playing the game - the correct, patched version will be made available to North American players ASAP."

Some of the 'features' the developer build had was a 'no clip' mode by press 'y', enabled players to fly around the map and through objects. Quest scripts would randomly break,  making the player to force restart.

A patch was released today, but it added further insult to injury, wide spread reports of (and my experience) that the entire save had to be restarted, due to a quest bug or 0% completion bug.

My own experiences with the dev build were streamed live last night, as I was showing off the 'no clip' mode, flying around the island. Checking out the sites, and areas you are not allowed to get into.

Piano of the Dead

Zombies are close to flooding the island that is dead, on September 6th. In celebration, Deep Silver revealed the official release trailer, featuring cutscenes and action from Dead Island, with it's famous piano tune.

Set on a tropical paradise, Dead Island will be an open world filled with zombies waiting to eat the brains of players around every corner. As players travel through the holiday resort, ammunition will be scarce, instead relying on finding and using items as weapons, to fight of the hordes of the undead, waiting to feast on succulent flesh. Items can be collected and later assembled to create anything from make shift weapons, to serious zombie splatting tools of destruction.

Look for the video game Dead Island September 6th, on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.
