Vita Will Support Most PSP Downloadable Games
If you have purchased PSP games on Sony's PSN, you are in luck. PS Vita will be able to play them, and certain games will even have dual analog stick support.
For people stuck the old retired UMD discs, Sony "may" have a solution for you, but it is not ready to talk about that just yet. Vita will be launching in Japan December 12th, other regions sometime in 2012.
26 Games Launching with Vita
With the PS Vita launch December 17th, games must come out for it right? Well Sony has a huge list of launch titles for Japan. As you can see from the pics below, the games cover a wide variety of genres, giving anyone picky, something to play. Of course, Ridge Racer WILL be there!

PS Vita Dated December 17 in Japan
Just announced from the Sony Conference minutes ago, PlayStation Vita will be getting a release date of December 17th...in Japan! No other territories were given for the unreleased handheld, but with this announcement, it will be giving competition to the 3DS this holiday in Japan, leaving all other territories for Nintendo.

In Defense of Vita: Part 1
The PSVita has been a somewhat divisive issue since its announcement back in June where some people believe, with reason, that the age of handhelds with the primary focus being video games has come to an end. I on the other hand have a more favorable opinion on the ability of Sony to navigate these ever-changing waters. What will be discussed in this first entry of this three-parter is the potential size of the handheld market place and how the PSVita is in a comfortable position to acquire a share large enough to become a profitable venture for Sony in the long run.

PSVita's Silent Hill: Book of Memories Doesn't Look Too Scary
Well with GamesCom now over with there has been a maelstrom of new videos, articles and juicy details that is sure to find some appeal in most gamers. A lot of what I’ve seen so far has been pretty uplifting and continues to build this frenzied hype I’ve had with the anticipation of all these killer games we get to look forward over the next 10 or so months. Though the item that is at the top of my wishlist is the PSVita , with it’s very desirable technical attributions and the ever-growing list of games from major franchises, I have little doubt Sony can follow through on the promise to have the best launch library yet for their Playstation IP. With the many games announced so far one game I have had my eye on was Silent Hill: Book of Memories. Though, with some recent video that has hit the net I feel I may need to look elsewhere for my petrifying portable.
PS3 Sales Up After Price Drop
Sony recently announced an immediate price drop for their PS3 consoles and retailers are already seeing this take effect in the market.
"We have seen a significant acceleration in the sale of PlayStation 3..." telling gamesindustry.biz. While industrygamers.com has caught word from retailer giant Target that they have "... seen an immediate lift in units sold since Tuesday's PS3 price-cut."
The cheapest model you can get your hands on now is a 260GB 'slim' version which retails for $250 in the US, 249 Euros across the Atlantic and 24,980 yen in Japan.
The last time Sony reduced the price of the console was back in 2009 with the inital release of the PS3 slim.
