Lord of Arcana Developed By Deadly Premonition Team

Access Games, the same team behind the quirky horror budget title, Deadly Premonition is now working on Square Enix's Lord of Arcana. Access Games is composed of former Kojima and Extermination members as well as Hidetaka "SWERY" Suehiro who posted on Access Games' blog:

"I have an urgent announcement to make: This week's issue of "Weekly Famitsu", released today (09/15/2011), reveals "LORD of APOCALYPSE", the latest game in the Lord Of series from Square Enix, developed by our company!!!"

"If you'll excuse my presumptuousness, it's a new Action RPG developed and directed by me.
Of course, the wonderful developers over at Square Enix are doing an amazing job on this game for us as well.
Allow me to express my deepest gratitude to you all."

If you remember, Deadly Premonition made a bit of noise back in 2009 for it's quirky characters, story, it's very dated Dreamcast-like graphics (think Shenmue), it's horrid controls and for moments so awkward all you could do is laugh. Despite this, it acquired a bit a cult following for it's Twin Peak's vibe and received a lukewarm reception from critics.

It will be interesting to see how Square Enix and Access Games mesh on this title and you can expect Lord of Arcana to be released for for the PSP on January 25th and as a launch title for the Playstation Vita in Japan.
